Hello, I'm Liz Townsend,

I transform houses into wonderful, practical homes that delight their owners. If you're looking for support with refining your home so it feels truly 'you', I'll help you find and achieve your vision.

Whether you want to make subtle alterations to suit your taste & lifestyle, or a more comprehensive transformation, I remove the stress of endless permutations, decisions & organising, giving you all the joy of a home you're proud of and adore spending time in.

I'm drawn to take inspiration from the colours & textures of the natural world around us. I’m a practical, down to earth sort, not a ‘flouncy designer’ in any way and I’ve been designing and renovating property for 25 years.

How I may help you

- Colour consultation & refresh advice - before you surround yourself with samples & tester pots get clarity & advice that could save you the cost of the wrong paint colour or curtain fabric! Affordable & especially suitable for single rooms, property extensions & refreshes.

- Floor plans & furniture layouts - getting the 'flow' right in your home is the difference between easy living & frustration. With my creative eye & practical insight, I'll help you refine positions & sizes of new pieces, avoiding classic mistakes before you invest in an item that's too big or too small.

- Design and feasibility for remodelling - it can feel almost impossible to find the 'perfect house' in the right location, perhaps there is no such thing - but it can be created. I can accompany you on property viewings or discuss options remotely, either way I'll give you inspiration to help you create a home you'll love. You find a property in a great location and then call me about all the rest!

- Window dressings - there is such a MASSIVE choice out there, how do you know where to start? From DIY on-line ordering to ready-made on the high street to custom-made, just knowing what you need, what the costs might be & how how to measure can feel like a minefield. I'll guide you through.

- Interior design - embarking on a new phase in your life is exciting & you need your home to reflect who you are. Whether you're looking for a whole home redesign or simply struggling to know what to do with a spare room - I help you create this new chapter with design choices that are right for you & your lifestyle.

I will inspire you and craft a design that saves you from costly mistakes along the way. With every project my goal is to help you adore your home, feel utterly proud of it and be completely comfortable living in it.

How I work

To get started we have a phone call to understand the scope of your project & explore how I may best support you.

Whether you're looking for design support for a single area or perhaps rethinking the whole house, I'll send my 'Getting Started' pack explaining my 8 Step design process & my fees, with a proposal for working together.

If you'd like me to take a look at a property you've not yet purchased, I'd be happy to. Starting as early as possible is absolutely THE best approach.

I can work alongside your appointed architect/contractor or I can organise works with trusted trades & suppliers that I know will deliver a quality finish.

I also offer a 'DIY' package for those clients who want design advice & guidance and are confident with delivering the project themselves.

The great thing is, you can retain as much control as suits you, selecting which of my 8 Steps you need, choosing what to undertake yourself & when you want to move forward.
